Let’s Talk Bereavement Project

Let’s Talk Bereavement Project – free training offer for staff and volunteers working in organisations and community groups in North Cumbria.

A new collaborative project involving the NHS and the Third Sector, funded through NHS Charities Together.

“Let’s Talk Bereavement” aims to enable people in north Cumbria to gain access to the bereavement support they need.  Access to good bereavement support can be important to help people stay well and avoid developing other wellbeing and physical issues and may be especially helpful to those already disadvantaged by life issues.

The project will deliver free training for staff and volunteers working in organisations and community groups in North Cumbria. It’s open to those in all sectors.

The first wave of training aims to increase understanding of grief and provide tools/resources to enable people to have confidence to talk about death and effectively support the bereaved.  Half day specialised skills training will also be available later in the year.
