The new care home in Carlisle is one of two new build care homes which are being provided by Cumbria County Council.

Each scheme will accommodate 60 residents with a mixture of dementia and high dependency needs.

In addition to the residential facilities, the scheme also includes communal spaces such as a centralised dining room, activity room, catering facilities, hairdressing room and laundry.

There are also a number of informal seating areas and quiet zones incorporated in the development for residents to relax and socialise. 

These include outdoor spaces incorporating an allotment, seating areas and a wildflower meadow.
