Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority

The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority offers a range of support for those operating tourism businesses in the National Park.

For instance, YDNPA runs a number of events and workshops throughout the year aimed at tourism businesses.

These give an opportunity to meet other businesses and talk about tourism initiatives in the area.

The Tourism Talk e-newsletter is mailed to tourism businesses around three or four times per year.

It aims to provide tourism businesses information about what we have been doing along with upcoming events and projects.

Partnerships

Partner local authorities and other local bodies provide a range of funding that may be available to support projects inside the National Park:

The Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) provides a range of funding for a range of local projects.  The Authority set up the Trust as an independent registered charity in 1997.  Since then the Trust has helped to deliver projects worth over £20 million in the Yorkshire Dales and surrounding areas.

The Cumbria Fells and Dales LEADER  programme is open for applications and will provide grants to small businesses, farmers, foresters and communities for projects that create jobs and grow the rural economy.

The Solway and Eden LEADER Programme is now open for grants to small businesses, farmers, foresters and communities for projects that create jobs and grow the rural economy.

North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership work, with public and private sector partners, to deliver economic improvement and change across York, North Yorkshire and East Riding.

Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership provides a strategic lead in all activities contributing to the growth and vibrancy of the county’s economy and takes positive action, using the skills, capability and networks of its partners.

South Lakeland District Council provides funding to address the needs of local communities.

Craven District Council Community Grants Scheme awards grants to local groups for projects which benefit the local community.

Richmondshire District Council – Funding & Grant Schemes to assist small businesses and communities in the Richmondshire area.
