Wage subsidy drop-ins for local employers

Cumberland Council is holding 1:1 drop-in events for local employers, based in the former Copeland and the wider Cumberland area.

The drop in events have been organised so businesses can find out more about a wage subsidy opportunity to help them develop their work force. The opportunity is part of a Programme of activities hosted by Cumberland Council through its Skills & Enterprise Partnership.

The drop-in events will take place:

Thursday 23 November,2023, between 10.00 and 15.00 at Millom Network Centre, Unit 3, Devonshire Road Industrial Estate, Devonshire Road, Millom, LA18 4JS

and

Friday 24 November, 2023, between 10.00am and 15.00pm at Barclays Eagle Labs, The Bus Station, Bransty Row, Whitehaven, CA28 7XE

The wage subsidy opportunity supports unemployed participants back into work and is available to small/medium employers.  The subsidy contributes towards employee’s wage and training expenses for up to 26 weeks. Workplace training and mentoring support is offered to candidates recruited through the Programme.

The Skills & Enterprise Programme is jointly funded by Copeland Community Fund and Sellafield Ltd.
