Department for International Trade’s Export Academy – Spring dates

The UK Export Academy from the Department for International Trade (DIT) gives businesses the know-how to sell to customers around the world by learning from experts in international trade. It has been designed to accommodate different levels of exporting experience, whether your business is interested in starting to sell internationally or looking to grow your international sales further.

Foundation Course – Build your knowledge and confidence if you’re relatively new to selling internationally or interested in learning about how to start. You will leave the foundation course with an export action plan tailored to your business. Join any of our ten virtual core modules, or our in-person one day NW workshops.

Full Day Workshops

NW businesses are invited to join us for in-person, full-day events designed to cover everything you need to know to start exporting in the morning; while the afternoon is dedicated to discussion, and sharing ideas about benefits and barriers, as well as planning for the future. DIT Export Champions are also on-hand to share their insights, and inspirational stories.

Taking place 09:00 – 16:30 on the following dates:

  •  21st January – Chester, Cheshire
  • 8th February – Liverpool
  • 22nd March – Kendal, Cumbria

Virtual Programme

The virtual programme is made up of a series of ten core interactive educational sessions with exclusive content based on feedback from our delegates and designed specifically to help NW small and micro businesses understand the fundamentals of selling internationally.

These sessions will run:

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • 13:00 – 14:00
  • Starting 11th January

Master Classes

Additional master classes will be available as part of the overall programme, led by international specialist Norma Foster. Topics include:

  • Internationalising Your Marketing and Website
  • Using LinkedIn to Win New International

The UK Export Academy is open to any business in the UK who has a product or service that can be sold internationally. It is for businesses who want to know how to reach international customers and contracts in the future, as well as those who might already be selling beyond the UK and want to expand into new markets.
