Westmorland & Furness Green Enterprise Hub

There’s some great support still available through the Westmorland & Furness Green Enterprise Hub, a partnership managed by Cumbria Action for Sustainability. The aim of the Hub is to support local organisations on their journey towards decarbonisation and sustainability.

We’re pleased to announce a price change for key support  –  all of the below are now offered free of charge! And they will be popular so be quick!

  1. Energy advice visits (previously £100)
  2. Renewables advice visits (previously £100)
  3. Energy Audits (previously £1500)

There are some great training courses coming up which eligible businesses in the Westmorland & Furness area can choose to attend.

Small grants for equipment purchases
Businesses in Cumberland are being given the opportunity to apply for small grants of an average £4,000 – £5,000 (max £10,000) for equipment purchase.

The following types of activities will be supported:

  • Training and coaching (excluding that which is already subsidised through this programme)
  • Accreditations
  • Research and development
  • Consultancy advice, audits and surveys

The following types of equipment and capital work will be supported:

  • Improvements to the thermal fabric of buildings (for example, additional insulation and window thermal upgrades such as double, triple or secondary glazing)
  • Transition from fossil-fuelled to electrical heating and fixed equipment
  • Energy efficiency upgrades to lighting and electrical heating and fixed equipment
  • Improvements to building energy controls
  • Upgrades to electrical infrastructure and metering, including electricity grid upgrade and connection fees associated with installing low carbon technology (such as EV charge points)
  • Equipment to support reduction in resource consumption
  • Equipment to support waste reduction
