Carlisle City Centre: Sunday 19 November 2023

This event is based in the city centre and is a celebration of the Christmas Lights Switch-On with a fun, family show, usually consisting of live music and a celebrity being the headliner act. There is normally between 10,000 and 12,000 visitors throughout the day.

You would need to be on site between 8.30am – 10.00am and be off site by no later than 6.30pm.

We are looking for up to eight concessions. These can include candyfloss stalls, sweets, roasted chestnuts, hot food and a coffee/tea concession or face painting, glitter, body art concessions. This year we do not require any market stall holders. Alcohol can be sold at this event; however, we may ask the bar concession to apply for a TEN license.

As a gentle reminder, please note for ALL events the Council must see evidence of your insurance. Public Liability Insurance (to a minimum of £5,000,000 (five million pounds) – if you are selling goods your PLI should include Products Liability with an indemnity limit of £5,000,000 (five million pounds). (This may well be included in the Public Liability cover but should be specified.)

Employers Liability Insurance (to a minimum of £10,000,000 (ten million pounds) – this would only be relevant if you have people working for you (paid or unpaid). If you do, then this is a legal requirement.
