Cumbria Business Growth Hub can also link you to further support including events which we think could be of value and interest to you and your business.
Firstly, the Better Business for All group is re-running their successful Allergens and Food labelling webinar ahead of Natasha’s Law being implemented on 1st October. The aim of the session is to ensure businesses that may be affected by it have enough time and information to make the necessary changes.
The webinar will focus on the three aspects of labelling – non-pre-packed (loose), pre-packed and pre-packed for direct sale and we encourage bed and breakfasts, delis, street market traders, at-home caterers, takeaways and village shops in particular to ensure they attend. While Natasha’s Law may not specifically affect your business, it’s in your best interests to take allergens seriously and this webinar will also act as a ‘refresher’ on what you should be doing.
There are 2 slots available 22nd September and 23rd September (the session is repeated). You can book your place here.
Also, Cumbria Action for Sustainability is holding a Climate Action Day at Ambleside Parish Centre on Thursday, 23rd September. ‘Ambleside to zero carbon’ is being held for businesses to meet a wide range of environmental specialists for free advice on how to decarbonise your business.
They can help businesses:
- Applying for the Low Carbon Lake District Fund (up to £20k)
- Building energy audits
- Subsidised environmental audits and certification
- Calculating your carbon footprint
- Free university eco-innovation support
- Resource efficiency advice
- Food waste reduction advice and food carbon footprinting
- Community funded electric vehicle charge points
The event is a free drop-in session between 11am to 2pm. Welcome introductions for businesses are 11am, 12pm and 1pm.
