Cumbria Action for Sustainability

Cumbria Action for Sustainability are now offering a new free to use carbon footprint calculator for any small or medium sized business in Cumbria. It can be found on their website at CAfS carbon footprint calculators.

Measuring the carbon footprint of your business is a great way of understanding and monitoring your climate change impact. What’s even more useful is being able to see which aspects of your business emit the greatest amount of greenhouse gases, whether that is the energy you use in your premises, your business transport, or the goods you sell. This allows you to prioritise what action to take to reduce emissions. CAfS also have a For businesses guide, with suggestions about how to tackle your emissions and links to a range of resources and other support.

Cumbria Action for Sustainability are also hosting a series of online sessions for businesses. Our target areas are South Lakeland, Keswick and Alston Moor, but others are welcome too if we have spare places.

Join CAfS for a free hour-long session, jam-packed with practical information to help you make your business more sustainable. You’ll hear from local businesses who are already taking action, including Shed 1 Distillery, Land & Sky Media, The Climb Shop / Joe Brown, St Mark Stays, Southview Guest House, and others TBC.

You’ll then have a chance to discuss your own ideas, aspirations and the challenges you are facing with our advisers, who will help you define the next steps towards reaching your environmental goals.
