The Growth Hub piloted its webinar offer with a series of four, free, open-to-all webinars in February, which delivered more than 1,000 hours of training.
Karen Morley-Chesworth, of Chesworth Communications in Appleby, signed up for the sessions on using Facebook and Twitter for business.
Both were led by Paul Teague, the Chamber’s Digital Development Manager, who happens to be one of the county’s foremost authorities on social media.
Karen said: “I’d been using Facebook and Twitter for some time but I still learned a lot that, in particular how to target potential customers.
“We got a massive spike on our web site when I applied what I learned and started to drive traffic from Facebook.”
She added: “I liked the fact that the webinar was interactive.
Webinars are a really good way of delivering training in a county like Cumbria, where people often have to travel a long way to get to workshops and seminars.
“You could ask questions as you went along, and Paul even tailored the content to meet the needs of the audience – that was impressive.

“It brings people together because and we were already talking about the webinar afterwards on Twitter.”
