BAE Systems have a well-developed procurement and material management system and are keen to share their knowledge, skills and experience.
As part of BAE Systems Supply Chain Social Impact Approach, BAE Systems are hosting a Lunch and Learn workshop focused on Modern Day Slavery and will outline the size and scope of the problem across the world, the local aspects and the things that responsible businesses may wish to consider looking out for in their supplier base.
The format will be a presentation and a group discussion around a scenario. The aim of this presentation is to encourage you to think about Modern Day Slavery as a topic, with the aim of encouraging you to seek further information from professional sources. The Lunch and Learn will be held on 17th March at 12:00 via Webex (online).

Regional Supply Chain Network
Whatever the size or type of business you are involved in, you will undoubtedly at some point purchase materials, goods or services from outside of your own organisation. Once purchased this may then require transporting, storing and managing to ensure you maximise its value to your business. This is something that needs to be managed carefully to ensure the long term success of our businesses.
As a result, BAE Systems Regional Supply Chain Network has been created to provide an opportunity for businesses local to the Furness area (LA and CA postcodes) to get together and share knowledge, skills and experience with each other to try and help build a more efficient and effective supply chain in the local area.
The aims of the Regional Supply Chain Network are:
- To provide a local professional network: providing a supportive infrastructure for effectively sharing information, experience and best practice
- To facilitate sharing of knowledge and best practice: providing a forum of local, like-minded businesses which actively contributes to and facilitates the sharing of knowledge and experience amongst procurement and material management personnel
- To develop relationships between local businesses: encouraging relationship building and facilitating a better understanding of local businesses needs and challenges, such that the group’s priorities and activities can be ‘tailored’ to focus on these
- To promote representation, visibility and engagement of procurement and material management personnel in the local area: encouraging better understanding and enhance profile of profession
The next Regional Supply Chain Network event is being held on Thursday 7 April, 2022, 12:00-14:30 at Oxley Developments, Priory Road, Ulverston, LA12 9QG.
Topic: This session will be hosted and chaired by Oxley Developments and will include a Work Winning Masterclass delivered by The Bidbase. This will be followed by a presentation from Oxley Developments on Supporting Skills in Cumbria through ‘a collaborative approach’ and a site visit. Lunch will be provided.
Register: To register your interest please email – supplychain.communicationsteam@baesystems.com. Deadline for registration of interest is Monday 28 March. Please be mindful that as this event is first come first served, we ask that no more than two representatives attend from each business.
