Thanks to a small pot of funding we’ve received from Cumbria Community Foundation to support food & drink businesses we’ve partnered with Cumbria Tourism who are delivering two food waste reduction training sessions in Carlisle and Workington specifically for food & drink businesses.
The training is fully funded for businesses in the old Allerdale, Carlisle and Copeland areas and has previously been delivered in Westmorland & Furness.
You can choose to attend either venue:
22nd November 2024 – 9.30am to 12.30pm – Priors Room, Carlisle Cathedral, Carlisle, CA3 8TZ
OR
29th November 2024 – 2pm to 5pm – Allerdale House, Workington, CA14 3YJ
As of March 2025 businesses with 10 or more staff will be required to segregate food waste and have this collected separately, under new Simpler Recycling legislation. Now is the perfect time to look at how you can reduce your food waste, which can have a big impact on your profitability and on the planet.
Based on the national Guardian’s of Grub scheme this free, 3 hour workshop is packed full of useful resources and advice on how to reduce wasted food, options for re-distributing food that could be eaten and the possibilities for on-site composting. Helping you to reduce wasted food, improve your bottom line and save the planet.
