Cumbria Chamber working in partnership with other North West Chambers is able to offer the below export training.

IMPORT PROCEDURES – North West Chambers – Delivered and hosted by Greater Manchester Chamber – 21st Nov – 9.30am to 12.30pm – £199 +VAT Chamber members / £270 +VAT non-members

The course will cover a combination of documents and procedures and explain the content and the benefits of being aware of this information.
As with all aspects of business, being efficient and profitable is a very important factor to most. This course is suitable for companies new to importing and established companies who need to update their current procedures.

Key learning objectives and outcomes:

  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of import documentation and procedures.
  • Understand what is an import?
  • What should be considered before importing?
  • Understand the content of an import purchase order and instructions to the supplier.
  • What documentation is required to ensure import customs clearance?
  • Understand what determines how much duty and VAT is payable?
  • What information you should check on import documentation.
  • Be able to identify customs regimes and import controls.
  • Be aware of duty and VAT suspension regimes which benefit the importer.
  • Understand that the import of certain goods is controlled and where to go for sources of information and assistance.
