If you’ve yet to hear about Zero Carbon Cumbria, it’s a brand that brings together everyone’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions in the county.
From schools to scouts, from businesses to councils, from community groups to individual residents… people and organisations are taking action to cut their carbon footprint and help reach Cumbria’s goal of being a net zero carbon county.
The Zero Carbon Cumbria website is a hub for carbon reduction action, giving you information about the impact of climate change here in the county and what’s being done about it. It showcases some great examples of what people are doing, and will hopefully inspire others to join in the journey to net zero.
Zero Carbon Cumbria have recently published an updated summary of greenhouse gas emissions in Cumbria which provides businesses with critical insights into the county’s emissions data, outlining key emission sources and trajectories. It offers businesses a roadmap which will help inform their own emission reduction plans, working towards Cumbria’s goal of becoming net zero by 2037.
You can also find out more by joining a free online event on 4th October from 2pm to 3.30pm. Expert speakers will take a deeper dive into the data and hear inspiring stories of how the county is working towards net zero.
