Skills Bootcamps

University of Cumbria: Skills Bootcamps in Project Management

Date: March 1st – March 31st

This taught, on-line course is aimed at employed learners who would benefit from formalising their existing practical project delivery experience or learners who may be required to initiate and deliver projects in the future.

The course begins with an introduction to Project Management and then develops knowledge and skills through completing practical exercises over a number of areas in a supportive learning environment.

Timetable:

  • 1st March– Orientation Workshop;
  • 6th March– Project Management: Project Lifecycle Approaches, Operating Structures;
  • 10th March– Project governance and the Project context;
  • 13th March– Starting a project. Requirements and scope development;
  • 17th March– Stakeholder engagement and management, communication, negotiation and conflict;
  • 20th March– Working, leading and delivering through teams;
  • 24th March– Planning project delivery, Schedule Creation, Costing, budgeting, and estimating;
  • 27th March– PM in context;
  • 31st March– Closing a project.

University of Cumbria: Leadership & Management for the Visitor Economy

Date: February 27th- March 28th

Delivered from our Ambleside campus, this course is aimed at learners who are already employed in a relevant role within the Visitor Economy and who are looking to progress through the acquisition of new knowledge, skills and understanding.

This face to face programme is progressive, with an easy introduction and increasing levels of challenge as it develops, to help the learners develop their skills and confidence in a supportive learning environment.

  • 27th February– Orientation Workshop;
  • 6th March– Managing Self;
  • 7th March– Understanding the Business Environment in the Visitor Economy;
  • 13th March– Data and decision making;
  • 14th March– Finance for Business;
  • 20th March– Customer Service Management;
  • 21st March– Managing Teams;
  • 27th March– Creativity and Innovation;
  • 28th March– Building the Business Model Canvas

Either bootcamp – Employer Subsidised Contribution* (limited places available):

  • Large Organisations with 250+ employees– £600.00
  • SMEs– £200.00
