Support through Inspira

Inspira is working with the Programme and Project Partners (PPP) at Sellafield, supporting their internship programme. This programme provides first-class employment and career development opportunities to young people in the local community.

An internship with PPP is a great opportunity to undertake an 18 month paid work placement working as part of a team delivering major infrastructure projects to support the decommissioning of Sellafield and to create a clean and safe environment for future generations.

The programme has already seen interns progressing through placements in project controls and project management, resourcing, communications, social impact and more.

The internship programme is for people who have previously struggled to find, sustained, quality employment. If you live in Copeland or Allerdale, are unemployed and aged between 18-40 and interested in an 18 month paid work placement, then please contact social.impact@sl-ppp.co.uk to ask for more information or contact Inspira at 0345 658 8647

Working together to resolve the skills challenge

As employers we all know how frustrating and time consuming it can be to find people with the right skills when trying to recruit. For every successful person a business may recruit there are usually unsuccessful candidates who are perhaps lacking the right skills or are in need of improving their CV’s or interview techniques.

As employers we are all committed to tackling the skills shortages in Cumbria, so next time you recruit, please look to refer your unsuccessful candidates to Inspira who can support with FREE impartial careers advice. They will look at what skills and training that person may need to help them upskill or improve their CV’s, applications, or interview techniques to progress. Let’s continue to work together to tackle the Skills Challenge.
