The Department of International Trade brings you a 2 hour webinar on understanding how to win international business with LinkedIn which is one of the most powerful online resources, which covers over 200 countries and regions and allows exporters to swiftly and effectively reach out to a global audience in over 24 languages. Effective for both B2B and B2C businesses, working smart on LinkedIn can bring significant results – competitive edge, brand awareness and swift global reach. It can also bring good short term results whilst you are internationalising your website.

Export Academy: Virtual Programme of 1 hour Sessions

The UK Export Academy from the Department for International Trade gives businesses the know-how to sell to customers around the world by learning from experts in international trade. It has been designed to accommodate different levels of exporting experience, whether your business is interested in starting to sell internationally or looking to grow your international sales further.
Foundation Course – Build your knowledge and confidence if you’re relatively new to selling internationally or interested in learning about how to start. You will leave the foundation course with an export action plan tailored to your business. Join any of our ten virtual core modules

The UK Export Academy is open to any business in the UK who has a product or service that can be sold internationally. It is for businesses who want to know how to reach international customers and contracts in the future, as well as those who might already be selling beyond the UK and want to expand into new markets.

• Thursday 12th May – 1pm to 2pm – Selling services overseas
• Tuesday 17th May – 1pm to 2pm – International commercial (INCO) terms
• Thursday 19th May – 1pm to 2pm – Movement of money
• Tuesday 24th May – 1pm to 2pm – Customs, VAT, and rules of origin
• Thursday 26th May – 1pm to 2pm – Creating an Export Action Plan

The Department for International Trade’s Internationalisation Fund

SMEs can apply for match-funded grants of between £1,000 and £9,000 which will be available for proposed future activities (subject to eligibility). To secure a grant, the business will need to fund a proportion of the costs itself. This varies according to where your business is based and will be up to 50% of the total cost.
