GDPR: How to Undertake an Information Audit and Compliance Review
When it comes into force in the UK on May 25 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will affect all organisations. An evolution of existing data protection legislation, GDPR will introduce some significant changes to the current regime, with non-compliance leading to potential fines of up to €20 million. It means reviewing activities, policies and procedures and taking action right across an organisation.
Join Cumbria Chamber of Commerce and Phil Brown, GDPR specialist and commercial lawyer for Napthens LLP, 10am to 1pm, Newton Rigg Conference Centre, Penrith on the 13th April – who will provide practical tips and case studies to help you understand your obligations and dispel the myths around GDPR, including
- What is personal data?
- Where and how is it stored?
- Identifying purposes of collection?
- Data retention periods;
- Legal processing; and
- Privacy Impact Assessments.
