Skylark Aerial Photography is a well established and innovative business located in South Cumbria. We cater for all aspects of aerial filming, aerial photography, building inspection and aerial survey.

Skylark Aerial Photography is owned and operated by Simon Handley on a full time basis. Simon has been building and flying his own FPV (first person view) fixed wing drones for 12 years. These sophisticated drones use their own navigation systems with a video downlink system.

Since starting the drone business full time, over 350hrs have been logged on quadcopters in the last 24 months. Includes TV, film, survey and inspection work.

Skylark Aerial Photography uses multiple drones, plenty of batteries, varying lenses, Osmo with Z axis, professional editing suite.

Because Skylark Aerial Photography is based in Cumbria it’s very easy to deploy a drone or two quickly and help with location advice. We operate in the Lake District, North West, North East, North Yorkshire and the Scottish Borders. We pride ourselves on professionalism and client commitment. We provide an affordable service, without compromising safety and quality.

We are approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to operate small unmanned aerial aircraft commercially in the UK. We hold a valid CAA Flight Radio Telephony Operators Licence, allowing us to operate at or near airports/aerodromes. Our pilots are fully qualified to the industry standard and have gained the CAA Permission for Commercial Operation (PfCO) certificate 1770. Our pilots have been trained by CAA approved Rheinmetall Unmanned Systems Training Academy (RUSTA).
