Made in Cumbria continues gaining momentum with 60 local producers now listed on the site. Recent additions to the site include Jenny Woolgar Photography, Kendamil and Voom Nutrition. The number of users accessing our Made in Cumbria website has been steadily increasing month on month, along with sign-ups to our mailing list and engagement on social media.
Over the past few months, we’ve been focussing on our SEO strategy (search engine optimisation), which involves increasing the quantity of visitors entering the website. Part of this includes regularly posting articles to our blog which respond to the most-searched questions and key phrases on Google relating to Cumbria, e.g. ‘Things to do on a rainy day in Cumbria’ or ‘Ice cream shops in Cumbria.’ Including these phrases in the posts, combined with regularly posting new content (two blog posts per month), has resulted in the Made in Cumbria website ranking in the top 10 search results for 300 Cumbria-related search terms. The increased visibility of the website in search results in turn drives more traffic to the website which filters through to the members’ listings and their own websites.
