Cumberland Food and Drink Project

Cumbria Tourism work to showcase businesses in Cumberland’s food and drink project.

Cumbria Tourism is proud to be working with Cumberland Council’s Destination Management team to run a new UK Government Shared Prosperity Funded three-month campaign to showcase Cumberland’s food and drink businesses – from small producers, family run cafes and fish and chip shops, through to fine dining restaurants, breweries and distilleries.

The aim of the project is to boost growth and innovation across Cumberland’s diverse food and drink sector. The campaign will include free opportunities for businesses including training opportunities, support and advice.

As well as this, a multimedia marketing and PR campaign will help to inspire and encourage more foodie visitors to the area, highlighting what makes Cumberland a great place for food and drink. It will be targeting a combination of local audiences, visitors with friends and family locally, along with domestic audiences within a 1½ – 2-hour drive time of Cumberland. A primary focus will be to encourage sustainable and active travel – visiting by bus, rail, on foot, by bike and combining a love of local cuisine and enjoyment of the natural surroundings.

How can I get involved?

As a food and drink business operating in the Cumberland area, you can help us understand more about what businesses need, and how we can make the campaign as effective as possible, by filling out this short survey (which should take no more than 5-10 minutes). At the end of the survey, you will be given the opportunity to provide your contact details to express an interest in getting involved. We will then send you more details about the next steps.

The project is fully funded, so there will be no cost to businesses to take part.
