To recognise excellence and innovation within the Eden economy a new business award is being launched in conjunction with the Inspiring Eden economic development programme run by Eden District Council.

As part of the Inspiring Eden work programme a set of 12 awards have been designed and produced in order that the Council can officially recognise organisations and individuals, working in the Eden area, who demonstrate a strong commitment to achieving rural excellence within the local economy.

Eden District Council now want to receive nominations for individuals/businesses in Eden who deserve to be recognised.

As Eden has such a diverse economy which supports a huge range of industries that include agriculture, technology, retail, manufacturing and the visitor economy a large number of entries are expected.

“Through launching these Inspiring Eden awards we wish to recognise people and businesses throughout the Eden Valley, Ullswater and the North Pennines that have made a significant contribution to the Eden economy. Now is your chance to help us celebrate the very best that our Eden economy can offer.” said Cllr Mary Robinson – Deputy Leader/Economies and Enterprise Portfolio Holder, Eden District Council.

To nominate an individual or business for an Inspiring Eden Award please email econ.dev@eden.gov.uk

When submitting a nomination please state:

• Name of business or person being nominated
• Reason for nomination – highlighting ways in which they demonstrate excellence in their field and how they have contributed to the Eden economy
• Your contact name, address, email and telephone number

Nominations can be submitted from now until the end of February 2023. Successful award winners will be contacted by Eden District Council.
