Free training for businesses in old Allerdale, Carlisle and Copeland areas

Thanks to UK Shared Prosperity funding from Cumberland Council and Cumbria Community Foundation we’re running the below fully funded training courses.

Food Waste Reduction Training for Food & Drink businesses

Date: 22nd November 2024

Time: 9.30am to 12.30pm

Price: Funded by Cumberland Council

Venue: Priors Room, Carlisle Cathedral, Carlisle, CA3 8TZ

As of March 2025 businesses with 10 or more staff will be required to segregate food waste and have this collected separately, under new Simpler Recycling legislation. Now is the perfect time to look at how you can reduce your food waste, which can have a big impact on your profitability and on the planet. Based on the national Guardian's of Grub scheme this free, 3 hour workshop is packed full of useful resources and advice on how to reduce wasted food, options for re-distributing food that could be eaten and the possibilities for on-site composting. Early Resolution – building relationships

Date: Tuesday 3rd December 2024

Time: 9.30am to 4pm

Price: Fully funded for eligible businesses

Venue: The Guild, 5 Abbey Street, Carlisle, CA3 8TX

A one day programme which is focused on understanding self and others, using a number of models and practical examples to improve self awareness, empathy and actions to support early resolution conversations and actions. Building confidence to enable clarity of message delivered with compassion. We explore transactional analysis, trauma informed and other models to understand our behaviours and that of others, with opportunities to build stronger connections. We trial the use of a coaching approach to solution focused conversations and actions.
