Gail will take a look 'Behind the Seams' of the Fashion Industry and clothing waste in the UK & Cumbria and explain how Cumbria Clothing Collective CIC are working to reduce Cumbria's Clothing Waste, one item at a time.
Gail created Cumbria Clothing Collective CIC in January 2025 after seeing the horrendous images of the mountains of waste clothing in the Atacama Desert. Gail is also a Business Adviser and Mentor with Cumbria Chamber of Commerce and has worked with 100's of businesses across Cumbria over the past 10 years.
A key aspect of reducing Cumbria’s clothing waste is to focus on reducing clothing in the first place. Carole’s presentation will encourage people to consider their personality and lifestyle and how this is reflected in their style through the clothes that they already own in their wardrobes and how to shop for new items with awareness & clarity.
In 2000, Carole trained as an Image Consultant in both women’s and men’s style and colour. Since then, she has provided Personal Styling through her independent business - Wardrobe Wake-up.
