Can you help the Local Skills Improvement Plan?
As part of Cumbria Chamber’s delivery of the Local Skills Improvement Plan, we are looking to conduct some one-to-one interviews with businesses in the county. The interviews will be conducted either over Microsoft Teams or telephone- whichever is best for you, and will take between 15 and 20 minutes. The results of these one-to-one calls will then form our research for the 2026 LSIP Report, which will serve to outline the skills challenges and strengths in Cumbria, and help with addressing what is needed for the region to thrive.
We would really appreciate your help with this and are grateful for any time you are willing to give to support the LSIP programme.
We are looking to get the calls completed over the next few weeks, with availability highlighted below:

Cumbria Farmer Awards 2026
Nominations are now open for the 2026 Cumbria Farmer Awards, a celebration of the heart and spirit of Cumbria’s agricultural community—shining a well-deserved spotlight on the people who make it thrive.
Now in its sixth year, the awards are organised by Newsquest Cumbria in partnership with David Allen, Cumbrian accountants who are once again supporting the awards as headline sponsor. The awards will showcase excellence across key farming sectors—dairy, beef, sheep, and machinery—while also celebrating the next generation and the diversity of our industry through categories for young farmers, students, innovators, food and agricultural businesses, and diversification initiatives, all of which play a vital role in strengthening Cumbria’s farming future.
