Grant funding is now available through Westmorland & Furness Council’s Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) to assist in overcoming challenges and responding positively to opportunities.
Funding is available to SME businesses in all sectors, throughout the Westmorland & Furness Council area (previously Barrow, Eden and South Lakeland) excluding the town of Barrow in Furness, delivered by Cumbria Business Growth Hub, the Chamber’s business support arm.
Capital grants
Capital grants at an average of £12,000 are available for purchase of equipment/machinery and small scale capital improvements to help grow, diversify, innovate and improve productivity. They can cover up to 50% of the cost of your project with a total pot of £418,039 available.
The first stage is to complete an expression of interest - the deadline for submission is 9am on Monday 11th August 2025. Following review by the grant panel, those successful will then be invited to submit a full application by 9am on Tuesday 16th September 2025.

Expressions of interest and associated paperwork must be submitted to info@cumbriagrowthhub.co.uk – Given additional funding now available we will be reviewing existing UK SPF expressions of interest so if you have already submitted an EOI in this round you do not need to reapply.
