Expressions of interest – Export Consultancy service

Exporting your product or service can be a great way to grow your business. But it may seem very daunting and you may be unsure if exporting is the right path for you and your business.

Filling a current gap in provision, we’re seeking expressions of interest from businesses of all sizes and sectors interested in accessing our new chargeable export consultancy service.

This new service will support potential, new, scaling up and established exporters, offering support on the topics set out below.

We’ll also be offering sector specific support to food & drink businesses.

Additionally, you’ll be linked into:

  • Our export documentation service, ensuring you have the correct documentation, simply and quickly

  • A range of useful resources including a series of podcasts with successful exporters 

  • A comprehensive range of export and import training which you can choose to attend in person or online

  • Wider relevant support and services, complementing the above

Training topics currently being offered include: understanding commodity codes, importing basics, completing export documentation, import procedures, how to quote for export sales, support with growth for exporters, agents and distributors…. You can view the current programme here

This will be a joined up, 360 and bespoke service with no limit on the number of hours available to you. It will be delivered through a mixture of online and in-person, with an initial conversation to discuss your needs and plan your package of support. 

Consultancy support will led by Martyn Staveley, who has over 15 years of International trade experience covering a wide range of sectors and geographies including:

  • Preparing to export

  • Researching markets of interest

  • Establishing routes to market

  • Identifying agents and partners

  • Selecting and participating in events and trade shows

  • Identifying competition and barriers to market entry

  • Developing a market entry strategy

His sector experience covers Engineering, Consumer Products, Food and Drink and many others.

He will be working with a network of associates who support the export journey, some with sector specific knowledge and others with specific knowledge of a country and its market.
