The importance of understanding the full import process helps businesses to react quickly and professionally to situations which often arise as a result of operating global supply chains.

Being able to organise international transport, manage long distance relationships and deal with customs clearance quickly and efficiently is imperative as delays at Customs are expensive.

Knowing your landed cost for on-selling in the UK or internationally is critical and needs to be calculated prior to placing your order.

This training covers:

  • Quick look at Incoterms 2020®, overview of HM Revenue and Customs regulations, how to evaluate duty and VAT, why are the tariff and commodity codes important, a look at import declarations
  • What HMRC regimes/services are available to use and what can be considered. The importance of import documentation and insurance. Information for your import agent.
  • Calculating the real cost of the imported goods
  • Help and advice, questions and assessments
