It is important you establish good business relationships with agents and distributors to ensure they are working to increase sales and vitally important are the agreements and contracts that you produce to ensure your company is trading safely. Having no agreements in place will not protect your company.
Presenter: Mandy Lockett MIEx - With 32 years of international and commercial experience, commencing her career as an Export Sales Manager for a local manufacturing company, travelling widely to countries around the world, dealing with distributors, agents, payments, legislation, contracts and agreements. Her role is dedicated to providing and delivering a comprehensive support and consultancy service for British companies with an aim to encourage companies to start to increase their international trade activities.
Presenter: John Pickervance – Forbes Solicitors - John has been at Forbes since 2011 and specialises in Commercial matters, heading up the Commercial department along with Forbes’ Manufacturing & Engineering sector group. John works for clients across a range of sectors and trading on both a national and international basis. John’s work predominantly relates to advising on, negotiating and drafting contracts governing the provision of both goods and services (B2B and B2C) but also deals with a wide range of commercial contract matters including agency, distribution, manufacturing, consultancy, franchising and other bespoke matters. John regularly acts in connection with construction projects, implementing building contracts, collateral warranties and other ancillary agreements. John also advises on and assists businesses in relation to the identification, protection and exploitation of intellectual property (including registering trademarks in the UK and on an international basis) and IT issues including digital compliance, software development and licensing agreements and support and maintenance contracts.
