I've wanted to start doing events that make a difference for a while, so when I got chatting to Susan's farm and found out they needed help planting some hedges, I jumped at the idea. I’m inviting you to join me for the day, to get outside in the fresh air, and do something good—for others and for yourself. The first Reflective Rebels Volunteering Day is all about connecting with like-hearted people, rolling up our sleeves and getting our hands dirty, and giving back.
We’ll be heading to Susans Farm to plant hedges at their Armathwaite site. It’s a place where nature, community, and purpose come together to change lives.
Here’s What’s Happening:
Hedge Planting: Get your hands dirty as we plant new hedges, creating vital habitats and giving back to the land. This will be hard work, so a reasonable level of fitness will be needed.
Painting and Refreshing: We’ll be brightening up one of the farm’s buildings with
Lunch: Share a hot meal with fellow volunteers and meet some of the farm team
Learning About the Farm: Discover Susan’s Farm’s fantastic work for our community, from education to farm carers groups.
Connection and Reflection: Throughout the day, there will be plenty of time to chat, laugh, and connect with others who, like you, believe in doing good.

Where: Susan’s Farm, Armathwaite
Who: This is open to anyone in the Carlisle and Cumbria area who fancies taking a day out of their usual work routine. Whether you’ve been to Reflective Rebels events before or this is your first, you’re very welcome!
Cost: It’s completely free, but you’ll need to book a ticket as spaces are limited.
