International Trade support

There’s some great support coming up for businesses looking to take advantage of new markets and opportunities.

FANBEST is an EU Funded Programme called FANBEST – a Blue Internationalisation Programme for SMEs.
The internationalisation programmed is aimed at businesses within the Blue Economy sectors (aquaculture, blue biotechnology, use of marine resources, coastal tourism, marine renewable energy, etc.) looking to expand globally. Up to 5 businesses across the European Atlantic Area will be selected to receive up to 10,000 EUR worth of support to help them grow global. The support will include strategy planning, export readiness assessment, market research and identification, all leading to a tailored market visits to their identified market.
This programme is opened to SMEs across the European Atlantic Area and is a great opportunity for those SMEs looking to get their businesses to the next stage. More information about the eligibility requirements and how to apply can be found here.

Trade Mission to Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Department for International Trade (DIT) is delighted to invite new and potential exporters from multiple sectors across the Northern Powerhouse to join a Trade Mission to Copenhagen, Denmark. The mission is specifically designed to help companies see the benefits of and obstacles of doing business overseas.

The mission will take place across two days and will include:

• Presentations on Doing Business in Denmark
• Meetings with DIT Trade Advisers in Copenhagen
• A networking dinner
• Meetings with local business support agencies
• Free time for delegates to pursue their own business activities

Denmark is a great place for UK businesses to start exporting for the first time. English is widely spoken and business practices are very similar to the UK’s. Additionally the country is one of the best performing in the EU and could be a gateway to other Scandinavian countries. The country puts great emphasis on clean and sustainable industries with demand for innovative products and services.

Eligibility:

The mission is open to SMEs from across the Northern Powerhouse region regardless of their sector.
Successful companies will need to pay a registration fee of £99 inc. VAT which covers accommodation in Copenhagen on Sunday 19th and Monday 20th June, and a networking dinner on Monday 20th June. Companies will need to arrange and pay for their own flights. We can only accept one delegate per company.

The Department for International Trade (DIT), in partnership with the Energy Industries Council (EIC), invites Northern Powerhouse companies involved in the Energy sector to take advantage of this great offer and join them in Aberdeen at the Energy Exports Conference 2022 – Energy Exports Conference 2022 (theeic.com)
This two-day programme, exclusively for the Northern Powerhouse delegation, includes the opportunity to identify global energy opportunities and meet key decision makers with access to one-to-one meetings. Confirmed companies in attendance include; Bechtel, Petrofac, Wood, Aramco, developers and other key stakeholders plus international delegations.

Santander Trade Barometer Report

According to the latest issue of the Santander Trade Barometer Report, Australia has moved from fourth in 2021 to second most attractive growth market this year, more than a fifth of the businesses surveyed highlighted it as one of their top markets of expansion.
